Description

The Engineering Manager (EM) will manage development and delivery of client facing front ends and their associated backing services. They will work closely with and report directly to the Senior Vice President of Engineering. The EM will immediately be responsible for 4 direct reports with plans to expand the team within the year.

 

The ideal candidate will have expertise in front or back end development but be comfortable working across the full stack. This is a player-coach role, where the manager should feel comfortable picking up tasks during sprints and making commits to the codebase.

Required Skills

  • 2-4+ years experience managing software teams and mentoring their members

  • 4-6+ years experience in agile software development with distributed systems at scale 

  • Ability to use technical understanding to appropriately estimate scope of work required to make updates to existing projects and start new projects

  • Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Ability to work closely with product teams to determine priority and complexity of new features

  • Experience managing hiring pipelines and onboarding new team members

  • Experience with CICD pipelines (We use bitbucket pipelines)

  • Experience with containerization

Preferred Skills

  • Experience delivering SaaS products to enterprise customers

  • Experience working with globally distributed remote teams

  • Experience with Jamstack deployments (we use Vercel)

  • Working understanding of Kubernetes
